In 2016, the artist listened to the radio news everyday; recording each time a reporter used the word ‘killed’. He combined each instance to create an audio feed detailing each usage across the calendar year. The resulting project is an affecting commentary on our gradual desensitisation to trauma, in which we can not only acknowledge our current state of ‘hypernormalization’, but look to change it as a result.
